Medical Cables with Multifunctional Connections
Whereas in the past cables used to transport only current or data they need to be multifunctional in today’s medical technology. Cables are supposed to supply current and transport not only data but also gaseous or liquid media. Hybrid technology makes this possible by means of a safe and multifunctional connection. phg has designed such a hybrid cable together with a leading manufacturer of technical devices. Particularly difficult: The closed system had to include a line for the suction and exhaustion of gaseous media and therefore required a gas-tight connector in combination with a data cable. A real challenge and a new dimension for connection technology!
