phg - Freedom for Individual Developments
Since its establishment phg has continually and sustainably grown Through several extension buildings we have kept our divisions up to date and created greater freedom for the manifold challenges of the future. Not in some low-wage country, but in our home town Deißlingen. Where everything started in 1974.

phg wins no less than two awards for the new RFID reader family VOXIO Touch: The reddot award and the iF-Design award.

Founding member of the association “Innovationsnetzwerk Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg”.

A further extension with appr. 1,400m² provides space for rapid growth. It is inaugurated in summer 2012.
2011
In August phg is elected as company of the month in the “Gewinnerregion Schwarzwald-Baar Heuberg”.
2010
Peter Hengstler is award the business medal of the state Baden-Wurttemberg.
phg has successfully passed the certification of the quality management system for medical products acc. DIN EN ISO 13485.
2009
phg survives the economic crisis with a major slump in sales of 25%. Equally surprising, the recovery is swift. No employee is made redundant.

The EUR 20 mio. mark is exceeded for the first time.
The environmental management at phg is certified acc. DIN EN ISO 14001.
We move into building 3. The increase of the office area with additional 392 m² and the attachment of a 2-storey building to the existing production area with 880 m² amount to further 1,272 m² of usable area. Thus, phg now has a usable area of 4,258 m² at its disposal.

The continuous development of medical technology bears fruit. As an established partner for the customized development and production of components for medical technology this area takes a prominent position with phg.

A cleanroom for the production of sterile products for medical technology is put into operation. Customized disposables for HF-surgery are produced. The development of high-tech products is realized in close cooperation with the customer.

Joachim Hengstler joins the company as managing partner. Side by side with Peter Hengstler he takes over the overall management of both divisions.

Due to the rapid growth only two years later, i.e. in 1991, the production area is extended by 280 m² to now 1,262 m².

The total area of the building is extended by appr. 40 %. At the same time, additional premises in the “old school” in the town centre of Deißlingen had to be rented for the Data Technology division.
1981
Jürgen Hengstler (partner) joins the company as a designer and trained precision mechanic. The age of CAD is about to begin.
1974
1974 Peter Hengstler registers the phg Peter Hengstler KG with “equipment manufacturing” as main line of business and produces in the basement of his private home in Deißlingen the first devices, e.g. to read out a single IBM punch card.
