Hybrid technology enables multifunctional connection
Cables used to "transport" merely electricity or data but it is now vital that they are multifunctional, and medical technology is no exception. Cables should be able to deliver electricity and also transport gaseous or liquid media in addition to mere data. Hybrid technology makes this possible by means of a secure and multifunctional connection.
In cooperation with a leading manufacturer of technical appliances, phg has designed such a hybrid line. A particularly tricky aspect of this was that the closed system should include one line each for sucking gaseous media in and off and so it had to have a gas-tight connection combined with a data line.
That was a real challenge and a completely new dimension in connection technology!

The advantages:
- Just one single line required into which all tubes and cables as well as additional electronic functions are integrated
- System integration by one electrical line for data transfer and one gas line each for sucking gaseous media in and off
- Permanently gas-tight connection even with daily use of the interface
