MC is plug-in connector family, developed and patented by phg, which is based on the standard M16.

The special feature is the mechanical codification - hence the "C" - enabling 10 codings to be accomplished in the easiest possible manner. Moreover, the codings can be distinguished by their colour. In this way the plug-in points can easily be visually located in the case of installation of several connectors in one housing.

Due to the 10 codings a "plug-in securement" need no longer follow via different pole numbers. Pole numbers that are not usually required but only serve the distinction of the plug-in arrangement.

The coding on the connector plug is undertaken by clipping in the codification plate. This can also be accomplished in the panel after the installation of the connector plug. The cable connector is delivered from the factory equipped with the matching codification, which is realised in a die-cast case.

The assignment of the contacts is arbitrary and the assignment of the maximum number of 16 contacts to the cable connector is also arbitrary from 1 to 16. The plastic extruded cable connector is, together with the socket, sealed in accordance with IP65 when mounted. All designs are available with shielding.
